End of a Great Season

John Nehner and Myself tied for first place in the Grand Bayou Series. We each had 45 points. The rules say the first tie breaker goes to most number of first place wins. John had 1 and I had 1 so we needed to go to most number of 2nd place wins. John had 2 and I had 1. What a way to loose but good job John. I want to thank Charlie for beating me after I made fun of his starter that cost me the season. Just kidding 1more race for this year the charity event. I finished the season on the same tires that I started on and still have several more miles to go. The only thing is that I lose traction every now and then and the last 2 races in Qualifying ended off course. I think my tire stick is gone. Next season I think I'll super charge my car so I can beat John. Just kidding, we'll be back next season in the Grand Bayou Series. Please join us with more cars. Also anyone who will be traveling to nearby tracks with open wheels let me know if time and money are available, we would love to make a few more races this year.

There Coming Out the Wood Work

Sponsors, racers, and everyone we talk to is getting excited about Speed Zone. We have signed Bryan Kemp, Doug Fazzolare , to co-host Speed Zone Grass Roots Racing. We are also talking to Herman Carrier as another possible co-host. Bryan Kemp has the Grand Bayou series he has been in the middle of most road racing in South Louisiana. Doug Fazzolare has signed on as drag racing co-host anyone who knows Doug should agree he will be a great asset to the series, he has been racing for the past 40 years. He is also the right hand man to one of this regions legends of Drag Racing the Teutons. We had our first shoot with doug he looks great and sounds great on camera. He'll be on Speed Zone the series "Buying and Selling Racecars" also. Herman Carrier will be on two shows, Sprint Racers Beyond Crazy and 57 Chevy Show Rod. We had a great interview and will be shooting the sprint cars in March.

Sponsors are ready now we go for tv time this week will tell where we stand. We have four meetings this week to talk tv time with tv stations. Things look like they are coming together. Hopefully the meetings go good so we can get tv time and get on the air.

Wild Ride

Kenny Cangelosi had a bad day at the track. This what the car looked like before his wild ride, if you notice the wheel mark on the door, this indicates he likes close racing.

Turn one is a high speed turn with a false since of security. If you go off there your asking for trouble. The lap before Kenny and Kerry Brown # 71 went through turn one side by side. There is only room for 1 car through turn one. Just as a note Kenny is doing fine just bumped and brused a bit. Hopefully he will be back soon our thought and praires are with him and his family.
This is what tv guys live for the perfect accident in the perfect place and the perfect footage without any injuries. The track was without mercy to the drivers who's tires got wet. There was 12 spins, 1 fire, and one big time crash. Racing was close we had a 4 man crew filming all around the track. We will be able to make 4 race shows from this weekend.

The Chase is On

It's been a succesful year so far in the Grand Bayou Race Series for me. I am currently in first place in the series. John Neher has had a bad two races which bumped me up to first place in the series. His last race he had an adventure when he went off course flying into the mud ripping off his front wing at 120mph. Good news is he is okay better news is we got it on film. There's one point seperating John and I from first place with one race to go. If I beat him this next race I'll win the series. If he wins first place this next race and I'm in second I'll get second place. We tie if he is in second or lower and I'm one place under him. Either way I'll be in first or second in the series.

It's hard to go fast when your running with half a car. This where I over take him to lap him.

Well, alot has happened in the past couple of months. Good news and bad news, The bad news is we are no longer affiliated with LCN. The good news is that we should be airing by the end of September. We will keep everyone advised on what is happening where. The opening is complete and show 1 (auto cross race school) is 75% complete. Show 2 (buying and selling a race car on line) is 50% complete, show 3 (Hemi power) is 50% complete and show 4 (drag racing the family car) is also 50% complete. Also we will be shooting more of drag racing the family car soon and we need 3 young people who would like to drag race and have never raced before. We now have 6 HD camera's and lots of new equipment. We also are shooting Crusing Nights which will take about 6 months to shoot since this is a ground up custom hot rod. We are also looking for people who do crusiers and are in the process of starting or finishing a project.

A Long Weekend

It was a long weekend this week Saturday we went to the boat races in Morgan City but the weather was to bad to race in, which was really annoying because we had waited all day for some racing but we did get some good interviews. Sunday was more hectic, first thing in the morning we went to the boat races to see if they were racing. They put out a couple of boats which we got some footage of but the water was still a little to rough to race. So we decided to leave and go to the autocross in Baton Rouge about an hour and a half away.

Before we got to the autocross we stopped at No Problem Raceway which was on the way to the autocross to pick up some scaffolding. We then went straight to the autocross at the police training facility in Baton Rouge and filmed at the first worker station. It was the last hour of racing so we only got about an hour of footage. So then we went back to the boats races after the autocross was over, so we had another long hour and a half drive.

When we got back to the boat races the lake had calmed down enough to race but since we got there late we only got to see the last hour of racing.

So when we got home we were hot, sunburned, and sweaty but at least we got some footage.

Count the number of cars in the picture then estimate how many belong to Dr. white. We started to make room for the new set. Half of our shop will be the new studio set for Speed Zone. We had to move several cars out in order to have a little bit of room for the studio. We moved them to the trailer. we are up and running

Well it's up and running still have some tweaking to do but all in all it's going well. We will be working on three of the Speed Zone shows. They are buying and selling race cars on line, race school, and drag racing the family car.I finally got a phone call from my mail man that the package was found. After three weeks in transit but I knew it would show up because they were insured; the post office isn't going to loose that kind of money. Now the new camera's have arrived. They are easier to use than the beta's but the beta's still have a great picture but these have a unbelievable picture. Of course it was raining, electronics and rain what a combination.. At 2:30 in the morning Wayne is about wiped out but hanging in there. We are now playing catch up with all the work that needs to be done. Long days ahead.

The editing room (suite) is now functional and running. Quadcore processor tera bits it's all here and I don't have a clue about it but thankfully we have Jason.

buying and selling race cars on line has benifits

While doing the segment I was watching a number of cars sell on line. Then I saw it a Formula Continental no reserve, pictures looked great. I had been looking for a Formula Mazda but did not have the money to buy one. This car is a few classes above the Mazda and it was at less than half the price of a cheap Formula Mazda. All kinds of things raced through my thoughts. I though that there had to be somethings wrong here somewhere. I got the winning bid. The car was mine but 20 hours away in Pennslvania. I called a guy that does towing for the car lot in New Orleans. He happened to be in New York and said he would be in New Orleans by the end of the week. He did it as a favor to me and he brought the car down. Well, the car looked better than the pictures. Usually it's the other way around. When the car got to New Orleans I took it for a spin and i did not have the front wing on. That was a mistake. At sixty the car hopped all over the road to the point of being scary. I decided to try to find some track time before I hurt something like me. I took the car out at the NPR track during a race school thanks to the driving instructor Judy Fass. The car had some serious handling problems. I think the car had been sitting for several years and the tires developed some flat spots. So the car danced at times on the road. After several laps at low to moderate speed the car started to settle down but still kept it under 130. The car has a few problems none of which were not expected. The biggest being the fuel cell has seepage not a big deal but expensive. We will be looking for a fuel cell. Other problems were just run of the mill things and we seriously need new tires. The engine seems strong. It doesn't seem to have much time since last rebuild. It looks like the car sat for years. The log books have not been entered into in 12 years. Who ever had the car really took care of it, Thanks Al. Next season I should be ready to be in the hunt for 1st in the Grand Bayou Series. I think I will do a few schools to get use to this beast of a car. It looks great and was another unbelievable deal. This has to be the fastest thing I've ever driven.

A weekend of Racing

Well, I finally got to take a day off and go racing. No filming, kids or distractions it was great. The formula class was competitive and after 18 minutes of racing only 1.009 seconds separated the Vees. The lead was swapped twice by two mistakes but in the end I held off the challengers and drove to my fastest time at NPR in a Vee. Hugh dropped 6 seconds off his previous times. He turned one lap faster than my fastest time but came in second. I love the close racing. Hugh don't get too fast I'll loose.This is a picture of John and his formula MazdaHugh let a little guy sit in his Vee. He had a smile form ear to ear.

It's gone!

The Ferrari at Dr. Maury's as we sold it.Well the Ferrari is gone we sold it to Dr. Maury. We went to north Louisiana at about 7 o'clock and drove for about an hour and a half. Dr. Maury is currently working on restoring an MGB. He was very relaxed in front of the camera which is always a good thing when were taping the show.

During the test drive the unthinkable happened the car started to have problems. As Dr. Maury drove the headlights started going off and on but only in fourth gear. As he accelerated the lights would go off then when he slowed the lights would come back on. I was thinking well here goes this deal, now I'll never sell the car. I turned to Dr. Maury and told him that I never had any problems with the lights. I am sure he wasn't buying it when I saw the problem. We knew that someone 6'5' could drive the car because Tom Sellack drove the 308 on Magnum PI. Dr. Maury was 6'5'' however his knee was just touching the light switch so every time he accelerated they would go off. I am just Lucky that I was paying attention when it was happening. Remember the Ferrari is meant for short Italians.
